Ben's First State Bar Conference

This past weekend Ben attended his first Virginia State Bar conference. The highlights of the weekend included swimming and sleeping (as evidenced below.) He also was allowed to attend the Young Lawyers' Conference's annual meeting where he wowed all the ladies with his charm and wit.

Ben's first encounter with a swimming pool. His friend (and future girlfriend) Kaitlyn kept him company while he got used to being in the big kids' pool.


Swimming makes Ben sleepy!!


Mommy dressed Ben in this adorable ensemble which included seersucker swim trunks. Don't worry Aunt Elizabeth, Daddy is looking for a matching hat.



Once again, swimming makes Ben tired! Mommy let Ben get in the bed with her and Daddy early on Father's Day morning... Although he's not yet 2 feet tall Ben managed to take up the majority of the king sized bed.

The happiest baby on the block!!

As we've said before, Ben is a happy-go-lucky baby. He's usually got a smile for everyone (even strangers) unless it's naptime or time to eat. I guess you could say he's the happiest baby on the block!!




Of course he's the only baby on our block!!

Big Boy Haircut

Well ladies and gentlemen... the mullet is gone! Ben had his first haircut earlier this week. Aimee, the stylist who does his daddy's hair, did the job. Below are some highlights from his first cut.

He stayed calm the whole time!
All done!!! He looks like a boy! Maybe now people will quit telling his mommy and daddy what a beautiful little girl they have. (That happens ALL the time.)

Is Ben turning into a one woman man?

Benjamin was busy this Memorial Day weekend!

On Saturday night he had a dinner date with his friend Lilly in Blacksburg. (Their mommies chaperoned the date.) Ben slept through the first half of the date, but he must have been pretty charming during the second half because he got to hang out with Lilly again the very next day!

Ben invited Lilly over to hang in his "hot tub." (It's really a baby pool, but don't tell Ben- it would crush him.)


He knows he's charming. He is one confident baby!


After lounging in the hot tub, Ben got to stay up past his normal bedtime to hang out with Lilly. In this picture Lilly is playing with the ball she gave Ben for Christmas. Ben and Lilly's parents enjoyed watching the two play together. Ben can't wait for the third date!!!
