Snow Day!!!

After playing outside, Ben went exploring and found some of his Christmas presents! Oops- mommy needs to find better hiding places.

The Janoschkas Don't Like Turkey

The Janoschkas did not travel this Thanksgiving. The three of them enjoyed their own little Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, and some other stuff. Last year Ben was too young to eat Thanksgiving dinner. This year he got to eat it all!

Ben loved the stuffing and the mashed potatoes (just like his mom.) He wasn't too wild about the turkey (but neither are his mom or dad, so who can blame him.)

A year of firsts.....

Ben turned one on October 29! What a whirlwind year this has been. He celebrated with friends and family on October 30 and had a blast!!! All his girlfriends were there- Lilly B, Lily D-C, Anna C., Madison C., Kaitlyn C and Aunts Mary and Elizabeth.


Here he is opening birthday cards on his actual birthday. The cards above were from Geemoo and Granddaddy Pete, his Great-Aunt Macel, and his mom's assistant, Liz. He loved them all!!


Ben's first real cupcake was from Roanoke's very own Abbeycakes- the best cupcakes ever!!



Ben wore his Yoda ears for part of the party. They kept his head warm!!

Ben got lots of awesome presents! Among other gifts, he got a football, blocks, a dump truck, some fancy play stand thing from Aunt Mary and a wagon from his grandparents. (He now likes to go on wagon rides with his girlfriends!)


He also got a little people farm. He loves dropping the animals in the silo, then opening the hatch and pulling them out!!

Ben had his one year check up a few days after his birthday. He weighed 22 pounds!! The doctor was very impressed that he had been walking since eleven months! He told Ben's mommy that Ben's daddy better go ahead and pick out what sport Ben would be playing, because Ben had some mad coordination skills!

Mommy's Little Pumpkin

Ben visited his first pumpkin patch this past weekend with his friend Lilly. They both picked out their own pumpkins and played in a haybale maze. (Ben tried to eat the hay so his playtime was cut short by his mommy.)

This is about as far as Ben got in the haybale maze. Miss Lilly made it a little farther, but for some reason they both kept coming back to the orange pumpkin sign! (And Ben kept trying to eat the hay.)

....because it makes her and Aunt Mary look pretty. And, of course, Ben looks pretty good himself!! (As always!)

A couple weeks ago, Ben skipped school and Mommy and Daddy missed work. What was the big occasion?? Why VeggieTales Live of course!!!


The trio enjoyed lunch at Moe's before the show. Ben LOOOOOVES black beans and he also likes cheese quesadillas.


Ben got to take Larry the Cucumber home with him!


Time to go home!!!

Ten Months Old and Still Growing!

Ben's blog has been slow lately because Ben's mommy's caseload doubled over the past month and a half... if only her salary would double! Anyway Ben is now ten months old! A lot has happened this summer- Ben started walking while pushing a little riding toy, and now can stand all by himself without support! He really wants to walk and seems to think about taking a step, but then he will sit down. He crawls everywhere and cannot stay still. Needless to say, changing diapers has become quite an adventure. He also finally has his two bottom teeth (which is a good thing as his parents were considering dentures.) In addition, he got tubes put in his ears on August 25 after persistent ear infections all summer.

Ben's First Beach Week

Ben had his first beach week during the last week of July. He got to spend a whole week in Nags Head! Here a few of the MANY pictures taken.



Ben enjoyed playing in the sand and exploring. His mom had to keep his paci in his mouth to keep him from trying to eat the sand!


It was very hot during the first few days at the beach so Ben took a trip to the Aquarium where he was able to stay cool.


The sky makes his blue eyes pop!!!


Ben loved eating out with his mommy and daddy and even got to try new foods like corn bread and whip cream! (He likes both!)


Ben is good at making funny faces!!

9 months old!

Ben is going to be 9 months old next Thursday! There's an extremely good chance his mom won't be posting on his 9 month birthday so here are two pictures that show just how much he has changed in nine months!!!
